Back to About Us
Envolve grew from the Environment Centre in Bath. The Centre was mostly brought together and managed by volunteers, working with a passion for environment and sustainability issues. It was developed as a public drop in centre - with predominately paper-based resources.

The move from Milsom Street to the Green Park Station office meant that the Centre was no longer as accessible to the public. Over the same time period, the way that people accessed information underwent a significant revolution, with many many more people accessing information via the internet, from their own work, schools or home.
Envolve was learning over this period too, and we found that our mission to help people develop more sustainable lifestyles, depends on a combination of tools, bringing together information and education, skill development, action and working together. This meant that our information role needed to evolve to link into our 'outreach' approach and projects. We also learnt that information provision for the general public needed to focus on short, sharp attention grabbers which helped raise people's awareness of sustainability issues - and then link those people to ways to take action.
This all means that we are evolving our information, education, learning and resource roles to meet the changing way that people use information and the changing way that Envolve works.
