Legacies
Leaving a legacy to Envolve is one of the most lasting and valuable gifts you can make. Funds such as legacies enable us to continue our important work throughout Bath and North East Somerset and beyond, influencing people and organisations to live in more sustainable ways to protect the future of our children and the planet on which they will depend.
How to leave a legacy in your Will
Leaving a legacy to Envolve is a logical extension of your support for us. By leaving us funds in your will, you can be assured that in future years, we can invest in the long-term work that is needed to create a more sustainable future.
Everyone should have a will because otherwise there is no guarantee that your belongings will be distributed according to your wishes. It is also an easy way to support your favourite charity/ies. There are several ways in which you can leave Envolve a legacy in your will:
Residual Gift : Bequeath the residue from your estate after all other bequests, costs etc have been deducted.
Pecuniary Gift : Leave Envolve a specific sum of money or an item.
A percentage of your estate : Specify your gift to be a specific percentage of the value of your estate. For example, a bequest of 5% of an estate worth £30,000 would provide a gift of £1,500.
Company Pensions : If you belong to a company pension scheme, you can complete an 'expression of wish' form to enable you to benefit charities such as Envolve. Then, in the event of your death, the stated proportion of the life insurance benefit will be paid to your chosen charity or charities. This is simple to do and has no legal implications but not all company pension schemes are set up to do this so check with your employer to see if yours does.
Making a Will
It is best to go to a legal advisor and get reliable professional advice to help you make your will but it doesn't have to be expensive. You may have a family solicitor who could do it for you, or perhaps a friend could recommend one. Alternatively, try looking under solicitors in the Yellow Pages. If you already have a will, the simplest way to make a relatively small alteration or addition is by making a codicil which is kept with your original will and which your solicitor will help you draw up.
Have you included us in your Will?
If you do decide to leave us a legacy we would be grateful if you could let us know since it helps us to plan ahead. Of course this is in no way binding and will be treated with strict confidence. |
