pathways to work
New programme of support for unemployed people now available in Bath and North East Somerset.
 Envolve recently launched an innovative new project that aims to remove the barriers to employment that many people face. The project called Pathways to Work is funded by the European Social Fund. It will help individuals wanting to find a job by providing a wide ranging package of services to increase a person's employability. It's been running with immense success through Future West in Bristol since 1999. Envolve is working with B&NES to replicate that success in Bath and North East Somerset.
At its core is a voluntary work placement where people can gain a professional reference, current work experience and learn on the job skills. Placements are set up to fit with an applicant's career goals and a small allowance is paid. In many cases vocational training and qualifications can also be obtained.
The Pathways to Work project offers personalised advice and guidance from the first introductory chat through to job search and employment mentoring. Taking part in the programme builds confidence, increases skills and can make all the difference in finding the right job.
