Volunteers are an essential part of Envolve and help us in many of our projects. We have a lively and vibrant volunteering programme with around fifty volunteers who work on a wide variety of tasks...
from weighing and packing vegetables
staffing the front desk
planning and promoting an event
to designing a booklet
Last year, volunteers contributed more than 3,500 hours, a valuable resource for us and one we value highly.
How to get Envolved
Step 1
The first step is to call
Claire Shakespeare (01225 787910)
for an informal chat about volunteering with us.
Step 2
After we receive your form, we will contact you to ask you to attend an informal intake interview. This will give you a chance to ask more about Envolve and to give us a chance to get to know you a little so we can find the right placement for you.
Step 3
You start volunteering!
What our volunteers say
Our volunteers come from all walks of life, aged between 14 and 82. Some are committed environmentalists others have recently become curious about sustainable lifestyles and want to find out more. We asked some of them to tell us about their volunteering at Envolve.
Volunteer Viewpoints
Requirements
You don't have to have specialist skills to volunteer at Envolve. Due to the breadth of our work we usually have a wide variety of placements available. We do require that you are reliable and have an interest in learning more about sustainable issues. We also need you to commit for a minimum of a few hours a week for three months. We're sorry but we can't accept volunteer's help outside of regular office hours. We need to work closely with our volunteers to provide ongoing support.
Special needs
Envolve is striving to become an equal opportunities organisation. To that end we will work with volunteers who may have extra support needs to accommodate them wherever possible to allow them to have a successful volunteer placement at Envolve. We are fully accessible.
